The Czech Customs Administration (“Celni sprava Ceske republiky”) is a governmental authority responsible for protecting and regulating the domestic market and ensuring safety of imported goods. The Administration consists of the General Directorate of Customs, eight Customs Directorates and their subordinated 54 customs offices with delimited territorial competence.
For over a year, Data3s has provided the Customs Administration with outstanding service in support of our IT initiatives, in particular the creation of a common internet portal and intranet system.
The goal of the project was to unify the public face of the Customs Administration while improving the Administration’s ability to communicate and respond to the specific needs of each office. Although originally in the hands of a different firm, in 2008 the Czech Customs Administration reassigned the project to Data3s based on their strong technical expertise and reputation for reliability.
In the early stages, we relied heavily on Data3s’ expert consultancy, which was focused a number of major technical issues, such as data migration, deployment planning, and creation of new features, including a full text search engine and other custom services designed to enhance the quality and effectiveness our communications.
Using the best technologies available, Data3s designed and developed a new Customs Administration Framework that was compatible with Microsoft SharePoint and accessible by thin client and thick client applications. As part of their complete service, they were even able to provide us with new graphic designs for both our webpages and Intranet.
At each stage of the project, Data3s provided us with expert professional who worked with us, analyzing our requirements, developing responses, and after a remarkably smooth implementation process, thoroughly training our staff on all the features of the new system.
